Backstage Warehouse Ltd. – Terms and Conditions of Hire
1. General
1.1 These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all equipment hire agreements between Backstage Warehouse Ltd. (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and the customer (“the Hirer”, “you”, “your”).
1.2 By paying a deposit, signing a hire agreement, or taking possession of any equipment, the Hirer agrees to be bound by these Terms.
1.3 These Terms apply in addition to any other written agreement between the Company and the Hirer.
2. Booking and Deposits
2.1 All equipment hire bookings must be confirmed with a deposit prior to collection or delivery.
2.2 Deposits are held as security against loss, damage, or late return of equipment.
2.3 Deposits are refundable upon the safe and timely return of all hired equipment, subject to inspection.
3. Hire Period
3.1 The hire period will be agreed in advance and stated on the hire agreement or invoice.
3.2 Equipment must be returned on or before the agreed return date and time.
3.3 Late returns may incur additional daily hire charges, deducted from the deposit or invoiced separately.
4. Hirer’s Responsibilities
4.1 The Hirer is responsible for the care, safe use, and return of all hired equipment.
4.2 Equipment must only be used for its intended purpose and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
4.3 The Hirer must not sell, sub-hire, or otherwise dispose of the Company’s equipment.
4.4 The Hirer must notify the Company immediately if any equipment is lost, stolen, or damaged.
5. Loss, Damage, and Charges
5.1 The Hirer will be liable for the full replacement cost of any equipment lost, stolen, or not returned.
5.2 The Hirer will be liable for the cost of repairing any damage (fair wear and tear excepted).
5.3 If repair or replacement costs exceed the deposit, the Hirer will be invoiced for the balance.
5.4 The Company reserves the right to retain all or part of the deposit in the event of loss, damage, or late return.
6. Payment
6.1 All hire charges, deposits, and additional costs must be paid in accordance with the invoice terms.
6.2 Overdue invoices may be subject to late payment charges and recovery costs.
7. Liability
7.1 The Company will not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from the Hirer’s use of the equipment.
7.2 It is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure adequate insurance cover for the duration of the hire.
7.3 Nothing in these Terms shall limit the Company’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
8. Termination
8.1 The Company reserves the right to terminate the hire agreement and recover equipment immediately if:
- The Hirer breaches these Terms, or

Payment is not made as agreed.
8.2 In such cases, deposits may be forfeited.
9. Governing Law
9.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
9.2 Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
